Less Is Best by Noel Montgomery

“Jesus must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.” —John 3:30

It’s natural for us to focus on our accomplishments and want to bolster our image. The problem with this thinking is it’s selfish. When we focus on humbling ourselves, we step aside and let Christ shine. How can we become less important? A few steps can make a difference such as seeking others’ opinions or not being afraid to make mistakes. In addition, allowing Jesus to become a greater influence in our lives increases His importance to us. Open yourself up to increasing God and decreasing yourself.

Let’s end on this note a scripture from Paul to the Philippians: “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had."

Philippians 2:3-5
God bless you always.
