New Interim Pastor

The Interim Pastor Search Committee (IPSC) and the church board are happy to announce the hiring of our new part time interim minister, Rev. Chris Morten.

Chris has been in the ministry for 22 years. His background includes pastoring several churches in the Midwest including a part time interim pastorate in Minnesota as well as working for the Minnesota Council of Churches for four years. Most recently, Chris led Associated Ministries in Tacoma, WA for 4.5 years growing it from a small, ecumenical agency into a vibrant community ministry with twice the budget and the staff. Chris’s gifts include listening, seeking authentic connections, teaching and preaching born out of reflection and a love of scripture. His love of scripture originated from his days at Lexington Theological Seminary and the mentorship and teaching of our very own Rev. Dr. Michael Kinnamon. Chris has a particular interest in transformation and is eager to work with us as we move through this time following Joan’s departure and continue our journey toward our new home. Chris brings considerable community organizing skills as well as strong administrative skills uniquely suiting him to help us develop next steps in “getting up on the hill.”
