Engaging Our Body, Heart, Mind, and Spirit: Church Wide Retreat By: Chris Morton

Music and Mandalas, a Labyrinth and InterPlay, Study and Worship. Whew! That’s a lot. Who could ask for anything more? Well, OK, you can ask for more. But, we are going to have a great time at our retreat as we engage each person’s body, heart, mind, and spirit as we explore our individual and community/ collective journeys of transitions and change. Mark your calendars now. I hope you will be able to be a part of this annual gathering. This year, the small group that I have asked to help plan the retreat (Curt Williams, Katy Lloyd, Liz Lang, Louise Petrasek) and I (Chris) have decided to keep the whole thing local. So, we will gather on Friday night at our current home of Mt. Baker Park Presbyterian Church, and then on Saturday we will travel over near Burien to Normandy Park UCC to spend the day together.

Friday night will be a potluck—we hope that three or four households will bring an entrée, and the rest of us can bring side dishes and desserts and drinks. And Saturday we will want to have breakfast and lunch (and dinner?). To help facilitate the planning of the food, we will have sign-up sheets as we get closer to the retreat dates of October 9 and 10.

If you have some thoughts about the retreat, please let me, or one of the planning group members know. It will be a wonderfully enriching time. I hope that you can make it!
